Presenting, the films and filmmakers of the 2025 Festival of Darkness (not in screening order):

A young woman is haunted by the dead lady in her tub.

“Dark Roast” – Robert Allan Scott (2026 Michigan 4:33)
A tribute to David Lynch’s 80th birthday, inspired by dream logic, uncanny sound design, and the thin veil between worlds.

“Eterno (Sub Ita) / Eternal” – Carlo Ruggiero (2026 Italy 10:47)
In a misty countryside, a killer claims victims while beginning to doubt the world around him and his own nature.

“False Lucidity” – Joshua Dewoody (2026 New York 14:20)
A troubled young woman uses her ability to lucid dream to escape her reality and buried trauma that eventually manifest and drag her through a series of nightmares.

“Glasshouse” – Hunter Chakrabarty (2024 Michigan 10:00)
A surreal psychological drama that follows Stretch, a troubled high school student teetering on the edge of emotional collapse, as he navigates a distorted and often hostile reality.

“Lady of the Lake – The Water Remembers” – Steve Smith (2026 Washington 12:20)
The final, imagined hours of Hallie Illingworth through fragments of her life and the quiet forces surrounding her vanishing, offering a restrained, human look at a story often reduced to legend.

“Laundromat” – Erik Martinelli (2025 Michigan 6:01)
A simple, late night laundry run turns into a waking nightmare when a young woman discovers she’s not alone and that some places shouldn’t be visited after dark.

“Lupus” – Alejandro Herrera (2026 Spain 3:00)
In the middle of the night, a boy is startled by the sound of breaking glass and the presence of a creature in his home.

“Manifest” – Andrew Gibbs (2025 Illinois 13:59)
A struggling woman joins a research study hoping for quick money, but buried past trauma drags her into a nightmare she can’t wake up from.

“Necrosectos” – Javier Lozano (2025 Spain 9:53)
An invasion of strange insects disrupts a family’s world.

“Peekers” – Quentin Morrison, Jared Stephens (2026 Michigan 7:53)
While trying to get into the Christmas spirit, Johnny has a horrifying encounter.

“Room” – Anthony DeRose (2025 New York 1:45)
Ninety seconds in a room with a body bag.

“Something’s Out There” – Nicholas Bricolas (2025 Michigan 8:05)
A man wakes up in the middle of the night to find strange happenings outside his home.
